VALPARIN CHRONO 300 TABLET USES –

Sodium Valproate – All forms of epilepsy, generalised epilepsy with absence seizures, prophylaxis of febrile convulsion, prophylaxis of post traumatic epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal, mania, nelsons syndrome.

Valproic Acid – Bipolar disorders, epilepsy, seizures, migraine, schizophrenia, status epilepticus.

VALPARIN CHRONO 300 TABLET WORKS –

Sodium Valproate – Sod Valproate is an antiepileptic which dissociates to the valproate ion in the GI tract and increased brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

Valproic Acid – Valproic Acid binds to and inhibits GABA transaminase. The drug’s anticonvulsant activity may be related to increased brain concentrations of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the CNS, by inhibiting enzymes that catabolize GABA or block the reuptake of GABA into glia and nerve endings. Valproic Acid may also work by suppressing repetitive neuronal firing through inhibition of voltage-sensitive sodium channels.
